B’nai B’rith World Center director Alan Schneider represented BBI at the traditional New Year’s reception for heads of the Christian communities in Israel hosted by President Shimon Peres on December 30.

The reception has been held annually for decades by successive Israeli presidents between the Christmas festivals of the Latin and Eastern Churches to mark the end of the Gregorian calendar year.

Hundreds of Christian leaders, alongside representatives of Israel’s other faith communities, participate in the event which provides a rare opportunity to interact with the whole range of over 60 Christian Churches, Orders and communities represented in Israel.
