For the seventh consecutive year, Chanukah was celebrated in La Moneda — the presidential palace — in Santiago, Chile on Dec. 11. B’nai B’rith was in attendance, speaking to and lighting the sixth candle with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet. Also joining the celebration was Foreign Minister Heraldo Muñoz, congressmen and representatives of various Christian denominations.

Addressing attendees, President Bachelet said that in the La Moneda “there is room for everyone, without exceptions, and everyone is and will be welcomed because this house is common soil and a symbol of the diversity we enjoy in Chile.”
