Argentina’s decision to build a national monument in Buenos Aires to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust is to be commended. The Argentine National Secretariat of Culture announced a public contest open to sculptors and other artists to create the display.

A seven member jury, including a member of the Secretariat of Culture, and representatives of the Ministry of Education, the School of Architecture of the University of Buenos Aires, and the embassies of Israel and Germany in Buenos Aires, will select the winner, who will receive a cash award as well as a Diploma of Honor.
