B’nai B’rith International has issued the following statement:
B’nai B’rith International Executive Vice President Daniel S. Mariaschin has been named to serve on the U.S. State Department delegation to the Human Dimension Implementation Meeting, taking place in Warsaw, Poland. The meeting, organized by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), is considered a vital human rights event.
Mariaschin will deliver remarks on behalf of the delegation on Oct. 1. Prior to this, he served as a member of the U.S. delegation to the 2003 OSCE conference on anti-Semitism in Vienna. Since then, Mariaschin has been a public advisor to the U.S. delegation at three subsequent high-level OSCE conferences.
The annual human rights meeting brings together hundreds of government representatives, human rights activists, and international experts to discuss human rights issues concerning the 56 participating OSCE states.
