B’nai B’rith International has elected Dennis W. Glick as president of the 166-year-old organization. The election took place at the Board of Governors meeting, which preceded the annual policy conference.
Most recently chairman of the executive, Glick promises to concentrate on further amplifying B’nai B’rith’s voice. “It is a true honor to lead this storied organization. During my tenure, I will work to position B’nai B’rith at the forefront of Jewish organizations, and to continue to have [it] play a principal role at the United Nations, the Organization of American States, and the European Union,” Glick said after his election. “Human rights, disaster relief, and seniors’ issues are vital to the B’nai B’rith mission. I will also intensify B’nai B’rith’s healthcare reform advocacy – ensuring the organization remains a leader in the debate over comprehensive healthcare reform.”
Perhaps a foreshadowing of his future success in the organization, Glick won the prestigious Label A. Katz Award for Outstanding Young Leadership in 1983.
During four decades of B’nai B’rith involvement, Glick has held a variety of posts and influenced the organization in numerous ways. Glick has been B’nai B’rith International treasurer, chairman of the Center for Human Rights and Public Policy, chairman of the Youth Commission, and chairman of B’nai B’rith camps. He’s been involved in national fundraising and held the post of regional president. With the benefit of years of service in just about every aspect of B’nai B’rith, Glick is well-suited to the demands of the presidency.
In his professional life, Glick is a CPA who is owner/principal of a firm in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Master of Science degree in business administration from Temple University in Philadelphia. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Glick’s three-year term begins December 7.
