B’nai B’rith International Offers Condolences and Support to India in Wake of Terror Attacks

B’nai B’rith International is shocked by the terror attacks in Mumbai, India that began Nov. 26. We extend our deepest sympathy and unwavering support for the people of India during this difficult time.

B’nai B’rith International President Moishe Smith and Executive Vice President Daniel S. Mariaschin sent a letter of condolence and solidarity to India’s prime minister on behalf of B’nai B’rith International.

The full text of the letter follows.

November 28, 2008

His Excellency Dr. Manmohan Singh
Prime Minister
South Block
Raisina Hill
New Delhi 110 011
India

Dear Mr. Prime Minister:
On behalf of B’nai B’rith members and supporters in 50 countries, we are writing to express our deepest concern over the terrorist acts of the past two days in Mumbai.

The brazenness of the terrorists, and the wanton death and destruction they have wrought in their wake, seemingly know no bounds. These acts, however, will only serve to strengthen the resolve of the world’s democracies to fight and defeat those who direct and carry out such horrific attacks.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you, the residents of Mumbai, and all the people of India.
Respectfully,

Moishe Smith, International President                  Daniel S. Mariaschin, Executive Vice President
