B’nai B’rith International congratulates Judge Sonia Sotomayor on the Senate's approval of her nomination to the Supreme Court. The historic nature of her selection and the growing diversity of the High Court are sources of national pride. A strong judiciary is vital to our democracy.

The Senate Judiciary Committee should be commended for its work throughout the confirmation process, from her nomination, to the hearing, and finally to her confirmation.

B’nai B’rith wishes Sotomayor well in her new role as a Supreme Court justice.
