Letter to the Editor - Time Magazine
B’nai B’rith International submitted the following Letter to the Editor to The New York Times:

To the Editor:

Jimmy Carter’s situational blindness continues. In “10 Questions” (Jan. 30) he once again blames Israel—and, as usual for him, blames Israel alone—for unrest in the Middle East. Surely by now Carter has heard of the thousands of rockets and mortars Hamas terrorists fire at Israeli civilians? And that Hamas terrorists vow to kill Jews and destroy Israel? How does Carter reconcile Hamas’ hiding of munitions among its own population? He doesn’t. He just ignores these facts to once again put a square peg in the round hole of his distorted logic.

Carter’s irresponsible claim that “Israel probably has 300 or so” nuclear weapons serves no purpose other than to demonize the Jewish state, making it sound like a predatory aggressor.

Carter’s reliance on Iran’s religious leaders’ “word of honor that they’re not going to manufacture nuclear weapons” betrays an incomprehensible naïve streak for a man who was commander in chief when Iran’s religious leaders took Americans hostage.

The question for Time: why does anyone still seek out Carter’s opinion on anything?
