B'nai B'rith International (BBI) is pleased to announce that Isaac Gilinski has been named the chairman of the Center for Human Rights and Public Policy (CHRPP). The Colombian native previously served as the B'nai B'rith president of district 23, presiding over 10 Latin American countries, and as the BBI International Vice President. "Isaac Gilinski's longtime service, and the respect he has earned as a leader in B'nai B'rith and in Latin America, makes him an excellent choice to chair the CHRPP," said BBI President Moishe Smith.
Gilinski, a chemical engineer and former professor at the Universidad del Valle in Colombia, has held many prominent positions previously, including as chairman of the board of Banco Andino and Banco de Colombia.
"His broad interest in global Jewish affairs, and his knowledge of many Jewish communities around the world, will enable him to work closely with us and our staff on so many vital public policy programs in which we are engaged," said BBI Executive Vice President and Director of CHRPP Daniel S. Mariaschin.
CHRPP is B'nai B'rith's voice in the international and domestic policy arena, and in defense of Israel and human rights. The center's venues range from the United Nations to the Brussels-based Office of European Union Affairs and the World Center in Jerusalem.
