New York City

In the big apple, young professional programming has two faces.

The Young Professional Network has been focusing on community service. Whether it be volunteering to help pack bags of kosher for Passover food for Project H.O.P.E or spending a few hours helping immigrants fill out necessary paperwork, our events always leave attendees feeling the spirit of tikkun olam.

Our marquee event of 2011 was “A Night of Wine Tasting” benefiting the B’nai B’rith Israel Fire Fund and Japan Earthquake Relief effort at the Mission of Bulgaria. Sixty people gathered for a night of French wine, raffles and chef prepared food. The event raised $1000 for our Disaster Relief Effort.

NYC young pros gather for one of the Global Round Table events.

The other face of young professional activity in New York is through the B’nai B’rith Global Round Table. This group is made up of young professionals in New York and young diplomats living in New York through their posts at U.N. Missions and Consulates. The group meets every month to six weeks for a conversation and socializing. These invite only gatherings have been on topics ranging from Race in America and Internet Dating to China: Beyond the Headlines.

To get involved in our Young Professional Network core group and help plan upcoming events email Jacob Reckess at Jacob.reckess@gmail.com.
