@DavidYarus, who founded the popular JSwipe online dating application in April 2014, answers “What does it mean to be Jewish?” in our latest #0dot2 video.

JSwipe has over 1 million millennial users worldwide who are looking to find Jewish love.

Last year, the app generated an average monthly amount of 100 million swipes between users, sent 4 million messages between users, and generated 1 million matches.  It was acquired by Spark Networks, the owners of JDate.com, in October 2015.

In 2014, Yarus also launched mllnnl, a millennial marketing agency that helps organizations like Taglit-Birthright Israel and Hillel International engage millennials through social media. Yarus regularly speaks about the millennial mindset and teaches social media strategy and best practices at major Jewish conferences, including the Jewish Federations of North America’s General Assembly, Taglit Fellows, the Israeli Consulate, UJA-Federation, and the B’nai B’rith Young Leadership Network’s Global Roundtable.

B’nai B’rith International has launched the Zero.Dot.Two Initiative (#0dot2) ahead of its 175th anniversary to discuss ideas around Jewish identity, to educate social media users about Judaism as a proactive way to combat anti-Semitism and to promote the Jewish connection to the State of Israel through the voices of many online influencers.  With approximately 14.4 million Jewish individuals alive today, we represent approximately 0.2% of global citizens.
