Embracing Our Legacy

Shaping the future

180 years of impact

Born in the heart of New York’s Lower East Side, B’nai B’rith emerged nearly two centuries ago with a noble goal: to champion and uplift new immigrants as they acclimated to life in their newly adopted homeland.

Since its inception, our organization has stood as an enduring emblem of compassion and community, igniting a tradition of mutual aid that proudly marks us as America’s first national service organization.

Helping when it is needed most

For 180 years, B’nai B’rith has stood resolute in its mission to unite, care, and uplift. Our national network of senior housing communities and relentless dedication to humanitarian aid have woven a tapestry of compassion that reaches wherever and whenever it is needed.

Our vital work continues

As we pause to celebrate our remarkable accomplishments, we are keenly aware of the vital work that lies ahead. The world around us is witnessing an alarming surge in anti-Semitic acts — a troubling trend that has reached unprecedented heights — with hateful rhetoric infiltrating mainstream discourse. Simultaneously, Israel faces an unrelenting barrage of defamation and vilification on international stages, where its very right to exist is questioned on a daily basis.

In the face of these challenges, we will continue to shine a relentless light on these injustices and to steadfastly combat hate in all its forms.

As a supporter of B'nai B'rith you are our partner in:

  • Combatting anti-Semitism in America and around the globe, focusing on preventing the mainstreaming or “normalizing” of Jew-hatred and bringing appropriate condemnation no matter who is the offended.
  • Working to bring more United Nations diplomats and other people of influence to Israel for critical first-hand exposure to Israel’s robust democracy, extraordinary security challenges and global humanitarianism.
  • Protesting Palestinian efforts to bypass the peace process to become a full U.N. member.
  • Monitoring denominational ecumenical bodies in order to push back at attempts to smear Israel as an apartheid state.
  • Working to ban academic boycotts of Israel, promoting anti-BDS legislation, and ensuring the safety of Jewish students in schools.
  • Opposing Iran’s efforts to develop a nuclear weapon and its continuing sponsorship of terrorism.

And so much MORE

Today we must fortify the pillars of B’nai B’rith’s essential work, ensuring that our legacy of service, advocacy and impact endures in a world that sorely needs it.
Together, we can make sure that wherever there is a need, there is
