A B’nai B’rith delegation participated in meetings of the Jewish Agency Assembly in Jerusalem in November.  

The delegation included Hon. President Moishe Smith, delegation chair Ben Mirman, Senior VP and World Center Chairman Dr. Haim V. Katz, former B’nai B’rith Israel presidents Zippora Peer and Raphy Barel,  Adv. Aron Katz and World Center director Alan Schneider, and was coordinated by the World Center.  

The meeting began with a presentation by Israel President Shimon Peres and ended at the opening session of the General Assembly of Jewish Federations of North America with a speech by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. 

On the Iranian issue, Peres cautioned against underrating the international coalition forged by the US. “Iran became more moderate because of sanctions that in the past also worked to prevent South Africa and Libya from building an A-bomb” he said.
