Hon. International President Moishe Smith, BBI’s representative on the Jewish Agency for Israel Board of Governors committees and World Zionist Organization Extended Executive, and B’nai B’rith World Center Director Alan Schneider, Coordinator of the BBI WZO/JAFI Committee, participated in meetings of the JAFI Board and WZO Extended Executive in Tel Aviv in February.

The JAFI Board focused on the roll-out of the new joint initiative with the Government of Israel under which some $300 million will be invested in building Jewish identity in the Diaspora.

Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky said that the initiative has great historical importance and will close the breach created between Israel and the Diaspora with the advent of political Zionism.
