The Transnational Project “Bridges of Tolerance”

WHEN: 3-5 June, 2015
WHERE: B’nai B’rith lodges in Central Europe

“A bridge is built in order to expend your world, in order to explore the other side…On a bridge, we may walk in opposite directions and yet we are walking toward each other.”

Purpose:

This multi-purpose project is made necessary and gains in urgency with each attack on Jewish people and their institutions, each tolerated extreme- right parade through the streets of Europe, with each incitement to racial hatred spread through the internet.

We believe that as an NGO, B’nai B’rith Europe is meant to play an active role in our European society, by promoting the right to a life of dignity for all. Therefore, we call on governments to uphold the values encompassed in the Universal Charter of Human Rights, for all its citizens. In view of today’s political and economic climate, the all too easy radicalization of the youth searching for values, we feel that we have to unite all our forces, governments, NGOs and citizens, in order to achieve the desired impact.
