PictureDr. Palema Berger

B’nai B’rith Breadbreakers • Rose Blumkin Jewish Home Auditorium • Wednesday, Noon to 1 pm • March 2, 2016

We are most fortunate to have Dr. Pam Berger speak to Breadbreakers.  The talented professor from Boston College is in Omaha to speak at the Missouri Valley History Conference.

At Breadbreakers, she will talk about her newest book, The Crescent on the Temple

She is referring, of course, to the “Temple Mount,” the Jerusalem home to the Dome of the Rock, a Muslim shrine and the “Western Wall,” of the first and second Temple.  Both Jews and Muslims claim the area as Holy.  It is also within a stone’s throw of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, built on the site over which Jesus was crucified.

Hmmm. The Temple Mount. A holy area in which the interests of the Jews, Christians and Muslims intersect.  What could go wrong?

The professor has a great PowerPoint presentation and is interested in a conversation with our group.

This should be fascinating and I hope will be able to attend the program with our esteemed guest.
