Bridges of Tolerance 5th Edition

5/7/2018

B'nai B'rith Europe initiated the "Bridges of Tolerance" project in 2013 in Bucharest with the Dr. Moses Rosen Lodge of Romania.

This event is  playing an active role, by promoting the right to a life of dignity for all. Governments, Parliaments and civil servants are called to uphold the values encompassed in the Universal Charter of Human Rights, for all its citizens. This project is a wake-up call to the government, a citizens awareness program about cultural diversity, and an educational  platform  for educators and students on Holocaust Remembrance and the dangers of racist ideologies.
The  5th edition of  "Bridges of Tolerance" project will be held this year on May 16th and 17th in Bucharest. The event is co-jointly organised, with the Advisor to the President and the Representatives of the Federation of Jewish communities in Romania, under the high patronage of the President of Romania.

This project both involves workshops and debates and cultural events promoting the contribution of minority groups to the European common cultural heritage.

The event will focus on "Contribution of national minorities from Romania to the diversity and vitality of European Culture". The official opening and the first day of the debates will be held at the palace of the Romanian presidency, and the second day of the event will continue at the National Bank of Romania. Cultural performances, including a symphonic concert, will be held during the evenings.
