Recently, a special event was held at the B’nai B’rith International headquarters in Washington, D.C., associated with the beginning of a project implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the charity organization Save a Child’s Heart.

Executive Vice President of B’nai B’rith International Daniel Mariaschin (pictured left) welcomed the cooperation between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and organization Save a Child’s Heart.

Executive Director of Save a Child’s Heart in the U.S. David Litvak provided information about the organization. He noted that as a result of cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, opportunities will be created for surgery of Azerbaijani children with congenital heart failure at the Wolfson Medical Centre of Save a Child’s Heart, operating in Israel.

Litvak also said that this project will organize trainings for Azerbaijani experts and stressed that his organization is ready to support the establishment of specialized medical centres in our country.

Speaking at the event, representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the U.S. Jamila Pashayeva-Seyidzade provided information about the Foundation, which this year will celebrate its 10th anniversary. Concerning the opportunities offered by cooperation with organization Save a Child’s Heart, she said that the health and welfare of  children do not depend on their nationality and have no boundaries, and the ongoing project serves a great purpose, like saving children’s lives.

Pashayeva-Seyidzade stressed that being a doctor by profession, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva focuses on projects in the health sector, in particular, aimed at treating children.

Noting that despite this project is presented in Washington, she expressed her hope that it will boost the existing bridges between the three countries – Azerbaijan, US and Israel…(more).
