Intercommunal AffairsAt a time of unprecedented geopolitical threats and dramatically heightened tensions between peoples it is vital that the Jewish community build and strengthen bridges. To carry out this task, B'nai B'rith has established an Office of Intercommunal Affairs, as part of its Center for Human Rights and Public Policy.
The primary objective of the Office of Intercommunal Affairs is to develop advocacy-oriented communication and various forms of partnership with a diverse spectrum of faith-based and ethnic groups. The office advances the proud heritage of wide-ranging, and often pioneering, achievements by B'nai B'rith in serving people of all backgrounds. These include landmark coalitions for civil rights; innovative intergroup cultural programs; major humanitarian projects; nonsectarian services for seniors; grassroots dialogue initiatives; global tolerance training; campaigns for religious liberty; and the pursuit of governmental protections against extremism and bigotry. This engagement represents B'nai B'rith's commitment to realizing the fundamental values and interests of the Jewish people—particularly as violent hostility against Jews and Israel has increased—while improving the lives of all people.
