B’nai B’rith International has issued the following statement:
B’nai B’rith International condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack on the Jewish community center in Malmö, Sweden on Sept. 28.
Early that morning an explosion occurred in front of the center. The front door was damaged and no injuries were reported. Two suspects were apprehended by authorities following the explosion after they were seen quickly leaving the area. They have since been released, but still remain suspects in the ongoing investigation.
B’nai B’rith stands in solidarity with the Jewish community of Malmö which has been grievously targeted. B’nai B’rith also supports the Swedish authorities in their efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. Such violent acts of intolerance cannot be tolerated.
