In Letter, We Note Need for “A Strong Israel-Diaspora Relationship”

(Washington, D.C., June 14, 2021)—B’nai B’rith International President Charles O. Kaufman and CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin have issued the following statement:

We wrote to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett congratulating him on his election on June 13 as Prime Minister of the State of Israel, assuring that “You can count on our support as you confront the wide array of issues on your agenda.”

Our letter notes B’nai B’rith’s history in Israel—where the first branch was established in pre-State Israel in 1888—and reaffirms our organization as a “proud supporter of the Zionist idea and the State of Israel over the 19th, the 20th and now the 21st centuries.”

“The challenges and threats Israel faces each day are many, as you assume your new position. The need for maintaining a strong Israel-Diaspora relationship is now more evident than ever,” we continue.

We look forward to working with Bennett over the months and years to come to address these and other challenges.
