B’nai B’rith International has issued the following statement:

B’nai B’rith International strongly condemns the barbaric truck ramming that occurred on Jan. 8 in Jerusalem. The rampage killed four and wounded at least 15. The driver purposely veered off the road and headed for a group of Israel Defense Forces cadets training to be officers. He then reversed and ran over the soldiers again before being shot and killed.

According to Israel’s Channel 2 news, a group of Palestinians celebrated the terrorist attack by flocking to the streets and handing out sweets. The radical terrorist group Hamas tweeted praise for the murderer.

Celebrating murder is a vile and cruel act. Palestinian incitement and rejectionism is the primary cause for the impasse between Israelis and Palestinians. The Jerusalem attack is another example of the senseless terrorist violence that has long been a bitter and horrifying fact of daily life in Israel.

B’nai B’rith offers its deepest condolences to the victims and their families.
