Council ignores Hamas Rockets into Israel

B’nai B’rith International President Charles O. Kaufman and CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin have issued the following statement:   

What an outrage that on the heels of Hamas and Islamic Jihad firing hundreds of rockets at Israeli civilians, killing four, the United Nations Security Council holds a briefing on settlements in the West Bank.

Instead of a meeting to condemn the terror groups for indiscriminate rocket attacks and ceaseless incitement against Israel, the security council met to discuss the “illegality” of settlements. To make matters worse, no Israeli official was invited to speak.

We commend U.S. Special Envoy Jason Greenblatt for speaking out unequivocally against the council’s failure to hold Hamas and Islamic Jihad accountable for the violence and instead, choosing to rehash “tired talking points, some 20 years old.”
