(Washington, D.C., August 27, 2021)—B’nai B’rith President Charles O. Kaufman and CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin have issued the following statement:

We welcome the White House meeting today between President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

We hope this first meeting of the two leaders signals even closer future cooperation between the historically allied nations.

The meeting was delayed by a day due to the deadly ISIS-K attack on U.S. troops and local civilians in Afghanistan, further pointing to the need for Washington and Jerusalem to close ranks on issues impacting the volatile Middle East, including Iran’s nuclear ambitions as well as the Palestinian ongoing refusal to participate in peace talks.

B’nai B’rith International has advocated for global Jewry and championed the cause of human rights since 1843. B’nai B’rith is recognized as a vital voice in promoting Jewish unity and continuity, a staunch defender of the State of Israel, a tireless advocate on behalf of senior citizens and a leader in disaster relief. With a presence around the world, we are the Global Voice of the Jewish Community. Visit bnaibrith.org.
