The Japanese Rescuer: A Lesson in Bravery for the Struggle Against Anti-Semitism

Together with the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM), we honor the late diplomat Chiune Sugihara, who saved thousands of European Jews during the Holocaust. For his courageous deeds that saved the lives of 6,000 Jews, Sugihara was granted the ‘Righteous Among the Nations” title by Yad Vashem. As the names of victims are read aloud, they are remembered. Due to COVID-19, this was a virtual ceremony broadcast live on Yom Hashoah as part of the North American Unto Every Person There is a Name program.
