YLN and Center for Senior Services Joint Mission to Cuba

In March the B’nai B‘rith Cuban Jewish Relief Project led a distinct mission to Cuba, bringing members and supporters of the Young Leadership Network and the B’nai B’rith Center for Senior Services to the island.

The combining of these two groups created a once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone involved, assisting Jews in need and learning about Jewish culture and identity in Cuba.

BLOG
B’nai B’rith supporter and Alpha Epsilon Pi member Matthew Caplan returned from Cuba and reflected on his experiences in a guest blog post.

“Perhaps most fitting then was our trip’s final day. Following a week of delivering food, medication and other supplies to a community that so desperately needs it, we celebrated Havdalah with the same Cuban Jews who are so instrumental to the community’s sustenance. Amidst prayer, song and gentle conversation, an intertwined Havdalah candle became an apropos metaphor to our realization that no matter what, Jews across all ages and borders are there in support of each other.”
