Rep. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) answers “What does it mean to be Jewish?” in our latest #0dot2 video.

U.S. Congresswoman Rosen represents Nevada’s third district and was sworn into the 115th Congress after winning in the 2016 election.

Prior to her public service in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rosen worked as a computer programmer, software developer and designer for some of the biggest companies in Nevada including Summa Corporation, Citibank and Southwest Gas Company.

Rosen is a former president of Congregation Ner Tamid in Henderson, Nev., where she dedicated countless hours to building the community and helping those in need.  Rosen helped cut the synagogue’s energy bills by 70%, allowing more money to go into programs serving the community, like senior tax services, and programs  such as Family Promise that provide meals and housing to the homeless.

Congresswoman Rosen serves on the House Armed Services Committee and is a member of the subcommittees on Tactical Air and Land Forces and Military Personnel. The Congresswoman also sits on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee and is a member on the subcommittees on Research and Technology and Energy.

B’nai B’rith International has launched the Zero.Dot.Two Initiative (#0dot2) ahead of its 175th anniversary to discuss ideas around Jewish identity, to educate social media users about Judaism as a proactive way to combat anti-Semitism and to promote the Jewish connection to the State of Israel through the voices of many online influencers.  With approximately 14.4 million Jewish individuals alive today, we represent approximately 0.2% of global citizens.
