Staff at the B’nai B’rith of Queens senior housing building hosted a birthday party for residents with September birthdays. Eighty-five tenants attended the party to honor the 31 residents with September birthdays.
State Sen. John Liu attended the party and presented the September birthday residents with a certificate from his office and a carnation. Due to the pandemic, this was the building’s first birthday party in more than four years. Building staff members expect to hold these parties monthly. The state senator’s office generously offered to provide birthday certificates every month.
“We thank State Senator John Liu and everyone at B’nai B’rith of Queens for making this party memorable,” said B’nai B’rith Legislative Director for Aging Policy Evan Carmen. “B’nai B’rith of Queens is more than bricks and mortar, but a community and welcoming environment that all residents should be proud to call home.”
Building Board President David Wanetik attended the party, along with staff members Carlos Marrero, property manager; Lauren LeeTom, assistant property manager; Davia Smith, service coordinator; Mabel To, administrative assistant/activities coordinator; Sofiya Umanskaya, administrative assistant/activities coordinator; Marco Claudio, maintenance supervisor; Carlos Vizhnay Chabla (Benny), housekeeper/porter; and Ramon Lalondriz, housekeeper/porter.
