Fighting anti-Semitism is at the core of what we do.

Since our founding, B’nai B’rith has developed tolerance programs and spoken out strongly against anti-Semitism in all its forms. “None Shall Be Afraid” is our flagship response to the world’s oldest hatred.

B’nai B’rith International created the None Shall Be Afraid initiative to keep a focus on anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism in our society. None Shall Be Afraid was inspired by the 1790 letter from George Washington to the congregants of Touro Synagogue in Rhode Island, where he quoted Micah 4:4, “Everyone shall sit in safety under his own vine and fig tree and there shall be none to make him
afraid.”

Anti-Semitism has grown dramatically on the far right, the far left, among radical extremist movements, and on university campuses. It includes online incitement and intimidation in traditional and social media, as well as violent attacks against Jews and Jewish institutions around the world. Far from merely a threat to Jews, anti-Semitism erodes the very fabric of democratic societies.
 
B’nai B’rith is dedicated to illuminating the hatred of Jews as a distinct and unique social illness, and to marshaling efforts to combat and – where possible – eradicate this phenomenon. We work diligently to prompt officials to fight anti-Semitism at all levels, delivering that message to governments and intergovernmental bodies, while taking action on college campuses and speaking out in the media.
 
This global problem needs a global solution, so today we say: anti-Semitism is everyone’s problem.
