Unto Every Person There Is A Name

Public Recitation of Names of Holocaust Victims in Israel and Abroad on Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day

Unto Every Person There Is A Name is a global Holocaust remembrance initiative of Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, presented throughout North America by B’nai B’rith International.

Each year, communities come together to honor the memory of Holocaust victims through the public recitation of their names and educational programs that preserve remembrance and inspire future generations.

Every Victim Had a Name

The Holocaust claimed the lives of approximately six million Jewish men, women and children. Behind every number was a person with a name, a family, dreams and a future that was stolen.

On Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah), the annual recitation of victims’ names restores their individuality, honors their memory, and reaffirms our commitment to combating Holocaust denial, distortion and antisemitism.

Help Ensure the Victims of the Shoah Are Never Forgotten

Honor the memory of those lost in the Holocaust by bringing Unto Every Person There Is A Name to your community.

Whether you are introducing the program for the first time or adding a name reading to an existing Yom HaShoah commemoration, B’nai B’rith International can provide resources, guidance and support.
