(Washington, D.C., June 24, 2021)—B’nai B’rith International President Charles O. Kaufman and CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin have issued the following statement:

We warmly praise Honduras for officially moving its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, recognizing it as Israel’s capital.

Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández and Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett attended the inauguration in Jerusalem. We join Bennett in thanking Hernández and the people of Honduras for their international support of Israel.

Honduras is the fourth country to move its embassy to Jerusalem, joining Guatemala, Kosovo and the United States.

Honduras has also signed cooperation agreements with Israel on agriculture, innovation, health and education. We welcome this strengthening of the friendship between the two countries.

We hope many other nations will follow Honduras in moving their embassies to Jerusalem.
