B’nai B’rith International presented a donation to the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas on July 28 to help feed residents struggling in the wake of flooding. In the spring, torrential rains caused massive flooding across the state, leaving many without shelter, food or water. Residents of Arkansas are still struggling to get by, as many farms were destroyed by the floods. These funds will provide 4,000 meals for those who have been impacted by this devastating disaster.

“I grew up in a small town that is part of the area covered by the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas so it is with particular pleasure that I present this check to your agency on behalf of B’nai B’rith International. We will not stand by and watch others struggle for basic necessities. B’nai B’rith will always be there to help others in their time of need,” B’nai B’rith Disaster Relief Committee Chairman Harold Steinberg said at the check presentation ceremony.

B’nai B’rith has a tradition of helping communities in distress, which began in 1865 in pre-state Israel when we raised funds to aid victims of a cholera outbreak. Since then, B’nai B’rith has helped countless people across the globe who have faced adversity after natural and man-made disasters.
