Tribute in Jerusalem to Recognize Nearly Four Decades of Leadership and Service at B’nai B’rith International

Daniel S. Mariaschin, honorary CEO and senior advisor of B’nai B’rith International, will be honored at a special tribute on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, at the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem. The ceremony will recognize his nearly 40 years of service to B’nai B’rith, including 27 years as the organization’s chief executive.

The program will feature a keynote address by Ministry Director General Eden Bar-Tal. Additional remarks will be delivered by Ambassador Naor Gilon, head of the Public Diplomacy Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Radu Ioanid, ambassador of Romania to Israel; Maya Solomou, ambassador of Greece to Israel; Ambassador Uri Palti, speaking on behalf of ministry veterans; Haim Katz, chairman of the B’nai B’rith World Center-Jerusalem; Ilan Shchori, senior vice president of B’nai B’rith who initiated the event; and other guests. The event is being held under the patronage of the embassies of Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Panama, Poland and Romania.

Mariaschin assumed the role of honorary CEO and senior advisor on July 1, 2026, following his tenure as CEO of B’nai B’rith. During his leadership, he directed B’nai B’rith’s global programs, activities and staff while overseeing the organization’s work in public policy, diplomacy, human rights, affordable senior housing, disaster relief and humanitarian assistance. He also served as director of B’nai B’rith’s International Center for Human Rights and Public Policy, representing B’nai B’rith before world leaders, international forums, the U.S. Congress and the media on issues affecting the Jewish people and the State of Israel.

Throughout his career, Mariaschin has worked to combat antisemitism, strengthen relations with the State of Israel, preserve the memory of the Shoah and advance Holocaust restitution efforts. His work has included negotiations with governments, participation in international initiatives and efforts supporting Holocaust survivors and Jewish communities around the world.

In May 2026, B’nai B’rith established the Daniel S. Mariaschin Institute for Leadership and Public Policy (DSM Institute), formerly the International Center for Human Rights and Public Policy, in recognition of his decades of leadership and his contributions to diplomacy, public policy and Jewish communal advocacy.

The tribute event will begin with a reception at 3 p.m., local time followed by the program at 4 p.m. at the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem.
