B’nai B’rith rejects the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) advisory opinion that Israel must work with the U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which has been thoroughly corrupted by Hamas.

Israel has worked to coordinate with other U.N. agencies and NGOs that provide the vast majority of all aid that goes into Gaza. UNRWA, however, has chosen to abandon neutrality and impartiality, which is critical for U.N. agencies doing humanitarian work.

UNRWA Has Held Bias Against Israel For Decades

UNRWA has spread—for decades—hatred against Israel and Jews in its schools. It has allowed its facilities to lose neutrality status by becoming terrorist operations centers. Its staff participated in the Oct. 7 massacre, and many of the terrorists who infiltrated peaceful Israeli communities were graduates of the poisonous educational curriculum in its schools. The U.N.’s own biased “investigation” of UNRWA reported neutrality issues. Israeli hostages have reported, after being released, that they were held by UNRWA employees or in UNRWA facilities. The ICJ chose to ignore the hostages and all the evidence and make an incomprehensible opinion.

We Commend ICJ Vice President Julia Sebutinde For Dissenting

We thank ICJ Vice President Julia Sebutinde of Uganda for, once again, being the voice of reason on this court, who dissented and wrote that Israel is under no obligation to work with an agency that is acting contrary to the U.N. Charter.

We condemn the court which made this non-binding opinion, but also the U.N. General Assembly, including many European member states, which referred this issue to the ICJ last year.
