U.N. Alert

Once again, the United Nations is showing its ugly anti-Israel bias for all to see.

At the September launch of its current session, the UN General Assembly passed a Palestinian-sponsored resolution demanding that Israeli Jews be completely removed from Palestinian-claimed territories within 12 months — including Judaism’s holiest places in Jerusalem — without any comprehensive final peace agreement.

The resolution failed to even acknowledge, much less denounce, violence against Israelis of all backgrounds by Hamas, Hezbollah, Yemen’s Houthis and their common patron, Iran. Instead, it called for Israeli reparations to Palestinians; called for travel bans and asset freezes targeting Israelis alone; rejected the establishment of foreign embassies and diplomatic missions in Jerusalem; rejected all Israeli security concerns, demanding the removal of a lifesaving defensive barrier that has prevented Palestinian suicide bombings; and appallingly smeared Israeli protective measures as “apartheid.”

This is outrageous on so many levels, it boggles the mind.

The resolution is unprecedented in its shamelessly one-sided endorsement of Palestinian claims and political demands, and further erodes the UN’s credibility as a serious contributor to promoting conflict-resolution and universal human rights.

But B’nai B’rith International is not letting this travesty stand. Not for a minute.

Since the founding conference of the UN in 1945, B’nai B’rith has led Jewish communal engagement with the world body. We maintain full-time, on-the-ground representation at UN agencies around the world.

So with your help, we are calling out the shameful actions of those countries that aided and abetted this disgraceful resolution. And we are continuing to push every contact we have in governments and international bodies around the world to emphatically reject the General Assembly’s resolution and to respect Israel’s right to self-defense.

So please support B’nai B’rith today. Please keep doing your part to support the Global Voice of the Jewish people.
