In Poland, Independence Day has been co-opted by skinheads with anti-Semitic banners; in Hungary, the annual Day of Honor march features Swastika flags and Hitler portraits; in Berlin, neo-Nazis gather every August to memorialize Nazi war criminal, Rudolf Hess – and all of this in increasing numbers, year after year.

Perhaps most chilling of all, this is happening in the EU, a union formed in the aftermath of World War II which we had hoped would ensure that anti-Semitism never again found fertile ground on the continent in which to grow.
