B’nai B’rith proudly announces the establishment of the Daniel S. Mariaschin Institute for Leadership and Public Policy of B’nai B’rith International.

The Institute is named in honor of Daniel S. Mariaschin, whose decades of leadership as CEO have helped shape B’nai B’rith’s global voice on human rights, diplomacy and Jewish communal advocacy. Mariaschin is retiring from B’nai B’rith on June 30, after 27 years as CEO of B’nai B’rith, and 38 years with the organization.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mariaschin has been a tireless advocate for Israel, a leading challenger of anti-Semitism, and a deeply respected analytical voice appreciated by each U.S. administration, the State of Israel, countries around the globe, in international forums, at the United Nations, UNESCO, the Organization of American States and in the U.S. Congress.

Seymour D. Reich, honorary president of B’nai B’rith International and former chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, said, “The launch of the Daniel S. Phyllis Greenberg Heideman on Honoring Mariaschin

Phyllis Greenberg Heideman, president of the International March of the Living and former chair of the B’nai B’rith Klutznick National Jewish Museum, who serves along with  Reich and Richard D. Heideman as a chair of the tribute event honoring Mariaschin, stated, “ I am honored to have the privilege of participating in a tribute to our dear friend Dan, who, for the last four decades has served as an illuminating educator to world leaders. His wisdom, compassion and wit combine with his unsurpassed knowledge of history and his understanding of the human soul. CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin on the Institute’s Future

Daniel S. Mariaschin, who served as the first director of B’nai B’rith’s Center for Public Policy and later its International Center for Human Rights and Public Policy, stated, “I am indeed honored with B’nai B’rith’s creation of the institute and look forward to our making a significant impact as we move forward—from strength to strength—in keeping with B’nai B’rith’s almost two hundred years of providing leadership in confronting difficult challenges.”

The launch of the Daniel S. Mariaschin Institute for Leadership and Public Policy will be formally announced in New York, the birthplace of B’nai B’rith in 1843, at a tribute event on May 27.
