On Oct. 31 Charlotte Knobloch, president of the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde for Munich and Upper Bavaria and, from 2006 until 2010, president of the Central Jewish Council, was awarded a gold medal of honor by the Frankfurt B’nai B’rith Schönstadt Lodge.
This award, which is the highest accolade that the Lodge can bestow, honors Knobloch’s exceptional commitment to the Jewish community in Germany and to the State of Israel, as well as her untiring efforts against far-right extremism and campaigning for a Jewish future in Germany. More than 200 people attended the event.
