Remembering the Holocaust After Oct. 7
Moderated by B'nai B'rith CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin, with opening remarks by Director of U.N. Affairs David Michaels
In 2024, we mark 85 years since the start of World War II, which saw the full implementation of the most systematic genocide in history. But since Oct. 7, 2023, attention has shifted to that day’s Hamas-led terrorist attacks in Israel – the worst atrocity committed against the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
Consequently, this year’s International Holocaust Remembrance Day (IHRD) commemoration is different from all past years.
In observance of IHRD, former Yad Vashem Chief Historian Dr. Dina Porat and Inaugural Director of the NYU Center for the Study of Antisemitism Dr. Avinoam J. Patt explore how recent events have impacted, and been impacted by, memorialization of the Shoah.
Watch our special IHRD program on this page, and on YouTube and Facebook.
