B’nai B’rith President Seth J. Riklin and CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin have issued the following statement:
B’nai B’rith International has opened its Israel Emergency Fund to help Israeli citizens after Hamas launched an attack against Israel from sea, land and air on Oct. 7. The State of Israel is calling up thousands of reserve soldiers to respond to this unprovoked attack.
Millions of Israelis are sheltering as heavy rocket fire and ground assaults plague Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and areas across the South. Iran-backed Hamas terrorists infiltrated the Jewish state from Gaza attacking civilians.
More than 3,000 rockets have been fired so far, more than 300 Israelis have been killed, and more than 1,400 are injured. Those numbers will only rise.
As we stand with Israel against this declaration of war by Hamas and its backers, we are working directly with our team in Israel to assess most urgent needs.
