B’nai B’rith President Robert Spitzer and CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin have issued the following statement:

The Israeli military has launched Operation Rising Lion, taking precise and defensive strikes against Iran’s nuclear weapons infrastructure as well as attacking its long-range missile capabilities and against those who have led Iran’s lethal military machine.

The goal is to dismantle Tehran’s existential threat to Israel and the entire region—preventing tens of millions of people from being put in harm’s way by eliminating Iran’s ability to produce nuclear weapons.

This is a strike against radical forces that relentlessly and publicly call for Israel’s annihilation.

Israel had no choice but to act against an Iranian regime on the cusp of possessing nuclear weapons. After nearly 50 years of genocidal threats toward the Jewish state, the time has come for urgent, decisive action to put Iran out of the nuclear business once and for all and to end its long-range missile capabilities.

We stand with Israel and unequivocally support its absolute right to defend itself.

Our prayers go out to the IDF and all Israelis for total success in putting an end to Tehran’s maniacal plans. No country would do less.
