President Javier Milei met Tuesday with Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, underscoring the close relationship that his government maintains with the administration of Benjamin Netanyahu.

The meeting, held at the Casa Rosada, also included Israel’s ambassador to Argentina, Eyal Sela; the Deputy Director-General for Latin America and the Caribbean, Amir Ofek; and the chief of Israel’s Foreign-Policy Cabinet, Itai Bardov.

Joining them from the Argentine side were Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno and Argentina’s ambassador to Israel, Axel Wahnish.

In September, during his appearance at the United Nations General Assembly, Milei held a bilateral meeting in New York with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. During that encounter, he received a commemorative medal from a Jewish NGO.

After the meeting, Milei posted a photo with Netanyahu on Instagram, writing: “Long live the values of the West, damn it.”

The bilateral meeting took place amid Milei’s strong international alignment with Israel, at a time when the country has faced criticism from the international community over deaths in the Gaza Strip during its conflict with Hamas.

Against that backdrop, Netanyahu criticized what he called the “shameful surrender” of world leaders to “Palestinian terrorism,” following the decision by countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to recognize the State of Palestine.

During his meeting with Netanyahu, Milei was also presented with the B’nai B’rith Award by B’nai B’rith, the world’s oldest and largest Jewish service organization, which works to defend human rights, combat anti-Semitism and racism, promote Jewish unity and continuity, and support the State of Israel.
