Intercommunal Affairs

At a time of both unprecedented global connectivity but also new tools for the dissemination of extremism and hate, it is vital that the Jewish community build and strengthen bridges across geographic and cultural divides. To carry out this task, B’nai B’rith established an Office of Intercommunal Affairs as part of its International Center for Human Rights and Public Policy.

The primary objective of the Office of Intercommunal Affairs is to strengthen communication and cooperation with a diverse spectrum of religious, ethnic and other groups. The office advances the proud heritage of wide-ranging, and often pioneering, achievements by B’nai B’rith in serving people of all backgrounds. These include landmark coalitions for civil rights, innovative intergroup cultural programming, major humanitarian projects, nonsectarian services for seniors, grassroots dialogue initiatives, tolerance education, campaigns for religious liberty and advocacy for legislative safeguards against bigotry.

This engagement represents B’nai B’rith’s commitment to realizing the fundamental values and interests of the Jewish people—particularly as violent hostility against Jews and Israel has persisted—while improving the lives of all people.
