B’nai B’rith International Honorary CEO and Senior Advisor Daniel S. Mariaschin was presented with the Arthur Teich Award for Distinguished Alumni Achievement during Alpha Epsilon Pi’s International Convention in Phoenix on July 31.

Mariaschin, who served as B’nai B’rith’s CEO for 27 years before retiring from the role on June 30, was recognized for a lifetime of distinguished leadership and service. With over five decades of experience in Jewish advocacy and communal leadership, Mariaschin has been a prominent voice on behalf of the Jewish people and the State of Israel.

Throughout his decades at the helm of B’nai B’rith, he strengthened the organization’s voice and influence through his commitment to supporting the State of Israel, combating anti-Semitism, advancing human rights and advocating for older adults. Whether addressing world leaders or engaging in one-on-one conversations, Mariaschin consistently brought both conviction and credibility to his work.

Mariaschin’s Lasting Impact on AEPi

As an alumnus of AEPi and a founding member of its University of New Hampshire chapter, Mariaschin has maintained a longstanding connection to the fraternity. He was previously honored with AEPi’s Gitelson Medallion for Jewish Communal Activity in recognition of his service and leadership.

Mariaschin also helped forge a significant partnership between B’nai B’rith and AEPi, strengthening ties between the two organizations and expanding opportunities for generations of undergraduate brothers.

Through this collaboration, students participated in meaningful educational, advocacy and service initiatives. The partnership also provided microgrants that enabled AEPi chapters to enhance local programming and strengthen Jewish life on university and college campuses.

B’nai B’rith became a key partner in AEPi’s We Walk to Remember Holocaust initiative, supporting name-reading ceremonies honoring those murdered during the Holocaust. In 2026 alone, more than 100 AEPi chapters organized ceremonies and educational programs for their members and local communities.

In addition to strengthening AEPi on campus, Mariaschin expanded opportunities for undergraduate brothers to participate in B’nai B’rith-led international diplomatic and advocacy missions. Through these experiences, students traveled to Japan, Geneva and Paris, participated in programs at the United Nations and engaged directly with diplomats and Jewish leaders, gaining a deeper understanding of international diplomacy and Jewish advocacy.

Honoring Mariaschin at the Convention

In his acceptance speech, Mariaschin said, “I am greatly honored to receive the Arthur and Simi Teich Award for Distinguished Alumni Achievement.

“From my sophomore year at the University of New Hampshire, where I was a chapter founder, AEPi has been, to me, a guide star for Jewish identity and continuity in our community.” He continued, “Today, more than ever, AEPi’s dedication to ensuring the Jewish future, and standing for a strong and secure Israel, makes it ever more vital as anti-Semitism runs rampant and Israel comes under attack from so many quarters.”

The award was presented to Mariaschin by Scott Knapp, former supreme master of AEPi and former senior vice president of B’nai B’rith.

Robert Derdiger, CEO of AEPi, said, “Brother Mariaschin has devoted his career to strengthening Jewish communities, defending the Jewish people, and ensuring that Jewish voices are heard in the most important conversations taking place around the world.”

He continued, “His leadership, integrity and commitment to service embody the very best of Alpha Epsilon Pi and is proof that AEPi is developing leadership for the Jewish community. We are proud to recognize him with the Arthur Teich Award for Distinguished Alumni Achievement.”

Jay Feldman, executive director of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation and a former member of the B’nai B’rith Board of Directors, said, “Dan has always understood that today’s Jewish college students will become tomorrow’s communal leaders.” He continued, “Through his partnership with AEPi, he gave our brothers opportunities to learn about Jewish leadership, serve people in need and advocate for the Jewish people on an international stage. His personal dedication to our fraternity has left an enduring impact on countless brothers.”

The Arthur and Simi Teich Award for Distinguished Alumni Achievement is presented to an AEPi alumnus who has demonstrated leadership in his chosen field, earned an exceptional reputation among his peers and applied the skills of his profession to advancing the ideals of Alpha Epsilon Pi. The award is named for Arthur Teich, who spent his entire adult life in service to the fraternity.
