The Queens Chronicle spotlighted Laura Hemlock-Schaeffer, a recipient of the 2025 Label A. Katz Young Leadership Award from B’nai B’rith International. She was one of five distinguished young leaders honored during our Triennial Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Laura Hemlock-Schaeffer of Forest Hills was one of five recipients of the 2025 Label A. Katz Young Leadership Award from B’nai B’rith International on Jan. 12.

The award recognizes those aged 22 to 45 who demonstrate service to the group’s mission, which includes fighting anti-Semitism, promoting Jewish unity and assisting communities in crisis.

With 12 years of experience with Jewish nonprofits, Hemlock-Schaeffer was chair of the New York City chapter and has led in the group’s young professional network. She also is project manager of the Platelet Disorder Support Association, where she advocates for those like herself with immune thrombocytopenia.
