Art historian and philanthropist Dr. David Landau speaks with B’nai B’rith CEO Dan Mariaschin about his tireless efforts to restore the historic Renaissance synagogues of Venice, as well as its 1,000-year-old glassmaking tradition.

For the past three years, Dr. Landau has led fundraising efforts to preserve three of Venice’s synagogues – all located in the city’s Jewish ghetto, established in 1516. So far, he’s raised more than two thirds of the $11 million needed to return the buildings to their former glory, places that serve as beautiful reminders of the rich Jewish history of Italy.
